Bringing Sunset on The Beach to the Waikiki community.
Challenge
Seeing an opportunity to grow loyalty among on-island Customers, Southwest partnered with the Waikiki Improvement Association to bring Sunset on the Beach, a series of five free movie nights in Honolulu, Hawaii, to life. The airline challenged us to plan and execute these events to help engage, educate, and build community amongst Hawaii residents.

Solution
Noticing the community’s excitement around the event, we embraced the opportunity to engage with other nearby islands by running a digital sweepstakes that flew out winners to attend an upcoming movie night. A landing page housed information like movie dates and times, links to RSVP on Eventbrite, a map, FAQs, and more.


Hiring local vendors to help execute each event was a top priority, which proved to be both a challenge and a detail that was deeply appreciated by Hawaii residents.
From selecting movies and planning activities, coordinating with local event partners and organizing logistics, our team executed every detail to bring these five, vibrant events to life.



Partnering with three local influencers helped amplify awareness of this free, family-friendly event series and boost social engagements to a local audience.







Box Office Results
